01 · Send the HTML POST your markup as the `html` field to `/v1/shots`, instead of a `url`.

02 · Chrome renders it The HTML loads in a fresh browser. Your CSS applies, fonts load and your scripts run.

03 · Download the file The response contains a `shot_url` for an image or a PDF. We host it for 24 hours.

API requests handled 21,732,869 Launched as open source July 2014

Same options as for a URL
-------------------------

Send `html` in place of `url`. Every other option works the same way, so you can choose the output and the size.

Send either `html` or `url`. `file_type` `png`, `jpg`, `webp` or `pdf`. `window_width` `window_height`Size of the browser window in pixels. Use 1200 × 630 for social cards. `device_scale_factor`Pixel density. Images, fonts and CSS
---------------------

The HTML has no address of its own, so relative paths such as `/logo.png` do not resolve. Put your CSS in a `` tag, and use full URLs for images and fonts. Everything you reference has to be publicly reachable. Small images can be inlined as `data:` URIs.

What you can build with it
--------------------------

Social and open graph images

One template, a fresh image for every blog post or product.

Invoices and receipts

Render the page you already email, as a PDF with the right paper size.

Charts and reports

Turn a chart library's output into an image for emails and chat.

Email previews

See how a template looks in a browser before you send it.

screeenly is not a web scraper

screeenly loads pages the way a regular browser does. It cannot get past bot protection such as Cloudflare challenges, CAPTCHAs or other checks that decide a visitor is not human, and it does not try to. Use it on your own pages and on pages you are allowed to load.

Questions
---------

Does JavaScript run in my HTML? Yes. Scripts run in Chrome like on any page. Use `delay` if you need to wait for a chart or animation.

Do I need a public URL for my template? No. The HTML travels in the request. Only the things it references, such as images and fonts, have to be publicly reachable.
